Senior Security Engineer, AWS AppSec - EC2

Join AWS Security as a Senior Security Engineer and be at the forefront of safeguarding cloud computing for millions of customers worldwide! In this role, you'll work on foundational services that form the backbone of AWS, directly influencing the security of the entire cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead efforts to secure foundational AWS services
• Validate services, applications, and websites are designed and implemented to the highest security standards
• Analyze security of applications and services
• Discover and address security issues
• Build security automation
• React quickly to new threat scenarios
• Own and contribute to security strategy for core AWS components
• Conduct application security reviews, mobile security reviews, and secure architecture design
• Perform threat modeling
• Develop security tools and deliver security metrics
• Provide security training and outreach to internal development teams
• Create security guidance documentation

Qualifications:

• BS or higher in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in product/application security
• Hands-on knowledge of threat modeling, secure design reviews, code reviews, and penetration testing
• Minimum 5 years of experience securing services in the cloud
• Experience with creating and securing applications using AWS services (preferred)
• Ability to develop code with at least one modern language, such as Python (preferred)
• Understanding of network and web-related protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
