Amazon Lab126, established in 2004 as an Amazon.com subsidiary, is seeking a Senior SoC Validation Engineer to join their innovative team. This role combines hardware and software validation expertise for next-generation Amazon consumer devices. The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology, including the Kindle family of products, Echo line, and Fire TV.

As a Senior Validation Engineer, you'll lead pre-silicon validation methodology, work with emulation and hardware prototyping platforms, and manage post-silicon efforts for custom multi-media SoCs. You'll collaborate with Silicon and System Architecture, Product Planning, and Technology Platform teams to ensure robust validation of both hardware and software components.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience in ASIC/SoC validation, strong expertise in various protocols (USB, PCI, I2C, etc.), and deep knowledge of firmware and Linux systems. You'll be responsible for developing comprehensive testplans, implementing validation strategies, and driving quality improvements in Amazon's consumer device ecosystem.

Responsibilities For Senior SoC Validation Engineer, Amazon Devices

  • Define and deliver validation methodology for pre-silicon, emulation and hardware prototyping platforms
  • Validate hardware and software for custom SoCs
  • Write detailed testplans for each subsystem
  • Implement testplans on emulation and prototyping platforms
  • Contribute to building a world-class emulation and validation team
  • Attend and run cross-functional engineering meetings
  • Drive analysis to determine performance targets

Requirements For Senior SoC Validation Engineer, Amazon Devices

Linux
  • Bachelors in Electrical or Computer Engineering/Computer Science
  • 10+ years in working on emulation/prototyping and validation of ASIC/SoC products
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Expertise in protocols/interfaces (USB, PCI, I2C, SPI, CSI, DSI, I2S, DDR, Flash)
  • Expertise in building robust testplans
  • Expertise in silicon bring up involving complex SoC products
  • Expertise in Firmware/Linux
  • Understanding of emulation platforms like Zebu/Palladium/Veloce
  • Understanding of prototyping platforms like HAPs/Proteum
