Senior Software Development Engineer, Amazon Robotics (AR) Sortation Planning

As a Software Development Engineer on the AR Sortation Planning team, you will design, develop and deploy full-stack robotic workcell solutions using AWS that are scalable, reliable and performant. You will build software solutions to improve sortation at scale, improve associate safety and ergonomics, associate job satisfaction, and site efficiency. You will build simulation models and digital twins of these robotic systems and provide our scientists, researchers and engineers the tools they need to develop and optimize robotic components, workflows and systems.

Key job responsibilities:

• Build scalable, flexible and maintainable software solutions to innovative robotics technology integration problems.
• Work with peers of diverse backgrounds and experiences to solve challenging problems in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Fast-paced, high-octane ownership of end-to-end solutions with a focus on working directly with stakeholders, customers and teammates.
• Maintenance, implementation and deployment of existing software services in Production with established customer bases, requiring adopting and adhering to metrics, alarms and operational excellence.

About the team: We have a talented, innovative and diverse team that works on cutting edge software driving human and robotic workflows, UI interfaces, AWS services at middle-mile Sortation centers within the Amazon Transportation Services network. We build algorithms to optimize sortation rates, improve safety and ergonomics, delight our associates, build simulations for our new robotic solutions, all while operating at Amazon scale.
