Senior Software Development Engineer, Builder Tools

We are inventing and shipping the future of rapid development for thousands of world-class engineers at Amazon. We are looking for a seasoned software engineer to join us in designing, shipping, and operating developer tools that make development fast and delightful.

Key responsibilities:

• Be a clear technical leader, working with colleagues to deliver scalable architecture
• Quickly and reliably deliver high-quality technical solutions
• Demonstrate excellent taste in developer experience and tooling design
• Partner with management to influence business strategy and product roadmaps
• Meet with customers to learn and help shape their tooling story
• Set a high bar for technical and operational excellence

As a senior engineer, you'll be a force multiplier, balancing coding, mentoring, and communication. You'll work hands-on, building and launching new features and developer tools for container and serverless development across Amazon's platforms.

The team, Individual Development and Team Collaboration (ID&TC), is part of Builder Tools and works on cloud-based dev environments, IDEs, dev tools, and high-availability services. You'll be part of the AWS Utility Computing (UC) organization, supporting development and management of various AWS services.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
