Description For Senior Water Strategy Manager, AWS Water Team

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're seeking a Senior Water Strategy Manager to join the AWS Water team, focusing on water stewardship and sustainability efforts. The role involves managing large-scale water infrastructure projects across multiple geographies, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and developing water supply strategies for AWS data centers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting water supply and infrastructure strategy development for AWS data centers in the Americas
  • Developing and negotiating water and wastewater supply contracts with utilities
  • Analyzing trends and regulations in the water industry
  • Managing water projects against plans and objectives
  • Working with utility regulators to develop policies supporting AWS growth and water sustainability

The ideal candidate will have both business and technology background, with experience in utility relationships and project management. This role requires up to 30% travel for project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Planning, Engineering, or Business
  • 10+ years of project-related experience with government agencies, utilities, and land development
  • 10+ years managing multiple simultaneous projects
  • 10+ years cultivating relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • 5+ years defining terms, negotiating, and executing water supply agreements

Preferred qualifications include experience in commercial real estate, water infrastructure management, and familiarity with water sustainability programs and regulations.
