Description For Silicon ATE Engineer, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper, an ambitious Amazon initiative, is revolutionizing global connectivity through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. As a Silicon ATE Test Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing test methodologies for custom SoCs that power these satellite communications systems.

The role combines hardware engineering expertise with software development, focusing on high-volume production testing of sophisticated communication systems. You'll work with cutting-edge technology, including 30+ Gbps SERDES interfaces and advanced test equipment from industry leaders like Teradyne and Advantest.

This position offers a unique opportunity to impact global connectivity by ensuring the quality and reliability of satellite communication hardware. You'll collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including ASIC designers and DFT specialists, while working on all aspects of the test development lifecycle - from initial planning to production implementation.

The role requires a strong background in digital test engineering, with at least 7 years of experience in high-volume consumer devices manufacturing. You'll need expertise in test methodologies, hardware debugging, and familiarity with scripting languages like Python. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,800 to $212,800 based on location and experience.

Working at Amazon means joining one of the world's most innovative companies, with excellent benefits and growth opportunities. The role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and requires occasional international travel. Due to export control requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or admitted refugees/asylees.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced test engineers who want to contribute to a groundbreaking project that will provide internet access to underserved communities worldwide while working with state-of-the-art technology in satellite communications.
