SOC Support Engineer III, AWS Security Operations Center (SOC)

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Operations Center (SOC) Support Engineer works across IT Systems and provides technical support, security response for logical services and physical data center systems and signals to support AWS security, customers, and partners. This role requires a strong background in security principles and practical application of security best practices. Key responsibilities include:

• Driving security findings, researching mitigations, and analyzing potential security vulnerabilities
• Managing high security events and communicating risks to AWS stakeholders
• Utilizing security mindset to assess and escalate security risks across the organization
• Creating innovative solutions to security issues
• Producing reports and briefs on security concerns and operational improvements
• Consulting with other Amazon security and service teams on AWS security posture
• Interfacing with technical teams and stakeholders to translate security mitigation plans into actionable items
• Managing communications, trouble tickets, and providing technical support to customers
• Utilizing knowledge of IT systems and troubleshooting Windows/Linux

The role requires flexibility in work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The AWS SOC is a 24/7/365 operation, and shift work is required. This position offers opportunities to work on improving security on a global scale across AWS infrastructure.
