Description For SoC Validation Engineer, Amazon Devices

Join the innovative team behind Amazon's AZ1 Neural Edge Silicon IP, powering the latest generation of Echo devices. As a SoC Validation Engineer at Amazon Lab126, you'll be at the forefront of ML accelerator development for edge devices. This role combines pre-silicon and post-silicon validation expertise, working on next-generation SoCs across multiple platforms including emulation, prototyping, and early silicon.

You'll collaborate closely with architects, RTL designers, and software development teams to develop and execute test plans, design test environments, and build emulation and prototype models. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that directly impacts millions of Amazon customers through Echo and Alexa devices.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in hardware/software interfaces, verification methodologies, and silicon validation. You'll be responsible for developing comprehensive test plans, implementing complex test scenarios, and ensuring the quality and performance of silicon implementations. This role requires both technical depth in SoC validation and the ability to work across teams to drive innovation.

Responsibilities For SoC Validation Engineer, Amazon Devices

  • Develop/review subsystem testplans and help create the SoC Verification and Validation plan
  • Implement tests and scenarios on multiple platforms
  • Develop and deploy baremetal drivers to configure SoC subsystems
  • Develop test benches, transactors and monitors for Emulation and Prototyping systems
  • Develop infrastructure for build and runtime of SoC emulation and prototyping models
  • Provide training, failure debug support and improving debug capabilities
  • Debug and resolve issues, pioneer and deploy new platform capabilities
  • Port emulation and prototyping testplans to post-silicon activities
  • Write tests and infrastructure to ensure Performant and Functional compliance of Silicon

Requirements For SoC Validation Engineer, Amazon Devices

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in EE, CE, or CS
  • 3+ years experience in pre-silicon verification using SystemVerilog/UVM
  • 3+ years' experience in post-silicon validation
  • Very strong problem solving, debug and analysis, and automation skills
  • Experience with verification and validation of complex SOCs
  • Solid grasp of concepts of HW/SW interface
  • Strong programming skills (assembly, C, Perl/Python)
  • Firsthand experience with silicon bringup, complex system debug, or bare-metal programming
