Description For Software Development Engineer

Join Amazon's Device, Digital and Alexa Support (D2AS) technology team in building cutting-edge device applications and architecting scalable solutions. As a Software Development Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing the next generation of diagnostic, troubleshooting, and self-healing systems for Amazon's latest devices including Echo/Alexa, Fire TVs, and Fire Tablets.

Responsibilities For Software Development Engineer

  • Design and build software for Alexa enabled devices, mobile clients, Amazon.com and backend cloud server systems
  • Convert requirements to scalable design and quality code deliverables
  • Contribute to full software development lifecycle
  • Provide operational support and resolve root causes of issues
  • Build and maintain software pipelines for Android devices
  • Create software documentation
  • Mentor other development engineers

Requirements For Software Development Engineer

Java
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience with design patterns, reliability and scaling
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Experience with full software development life cycle preferred
  • 1+ years of Android development experience preferred
