Software Development Engineer, Alexa SpeechMiddleware

Alexa is one of Amazon's most innovative services, changing how millions of customers use voice to interact with technology. The Ambient Computing Tech team is seeking an exceptional software engineer to expand Alexa's core speech-middleware experiences across all Alexa devices. This role is crucial for the Alexa experience on Echo devices and Fire TVs.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will:

• Own critical UI frameworks and apps for all Alexa devices
• Create rich customer applications while optimizing performance
• Work with a cross-disciplinary team to design innovative customer experiences
• Define world-class multi-modal experiences
• Make Alexa's visual design language specification available to all screen-based devices
• Lead software design, development standards, team processes, and code reviews
• Collaborate with UX and Product owners on customer experience and product direction
• Optimize software libraries for low latency, CPU, and memory footprint
• Deliver high-quality software in an Agile/Scrum environment

The Core Alexa SDK team is located in Irvine, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, and Seattle, WA. You'll work with cutting-edge build toolchains and efficient software release processes.

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including equity and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. The base pay ranges from $129,300 to $223,600 per year, depending on the geographic market and other factors.
