Software Development Engineer, Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) - Workforce Optimization

Our team is looking for Software Development Engineers who love listening to our customers, working as a team, and building large scalable systems. This is an opportunity to build and improve systems that will help Fulfillment Centers (FCs i.e. Amazon Warehouses) around the world to operate efficiently by providing information and insights to FC operators and software services which rely on real-time information for planning and staffing. These systems provide aggregate data and build an end-to-end picture of FC state to help users make key decisions to improve efficiency and staff optimally. These decisions impact delivery of packages to Amazon customers and your work will directly influence the Amazon business and customer promise.

As a member of this team, you will get the opportunity to work on highly visible, innovative projects that directly impact the customer experience. Key job responsibilities:

• Partner with product managers, software engineers, user experience designers and other teams
• Both code and mentor junior engineers committing code to the program
• Work on large scalable systems
• Build and improve systems for Fulfillment Centers
• Provide information and insights to FC operators
• Develop software services relying on real-time information for planning and staffing
• Build end-to-end picture of FC state to help users make key decisions
