Description For Software Development Engineer, Analytics & Data Management, Advertising Core Services

Join Amazon's Spektr Datalake team to build highly available, scalable distributed systems for one of the largest data lakes in Amazon. The role focuses on managing Petabytes of advertising data, including campaigns, ad-serving, billing, clicks, and impressions in a unified scalable repository. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies like AWS, Spark, EMR, and Athena to support data engineers, analysts, ML engineers, and scientists.

The position offers a unique opportunity to design solutions at massive scale, working with microservices built over Java and AWS. You'll be part of a global team spanning India and North America, focusing on simplicity, usability, speed, compliance, and cost efficiency. The team's mission is to provide data that helps the advertising organization make informed analyses and decisions.

As an SDE, you'll create value that materially impacts decision-making across the organization, resulting in tangible business growth. You'll work with skilled engineers, managers, and stakeholders to meet customer demands while maintaining system availability matching data growth. The role requires strong technical skills, collaboration abilities, and a passion for building scalable data solutions.

  • Design, code and deploy components and micro-services for the core job management pipeline
  • Engage with Product & Program Managers to understand customer requirements
  • Ensure testability, maintainability and low operational footprint for code
  • Participate in operational responsibilities with the team
  • Innovate on AWS technology to improve latency, reduce cost and operations
  • Automate monitoring of data availability, quality and usability
  • Build frugal solutions for the Spektr data lake

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Experience with design patterns, reliability and scaling of new and existing systems
