Description For Software Development Engineer, Aurora Control Plane

Join AWS Aurora Developer Experience (DEX) team in revolutionizing cloud database management. Aurora is a distributed, fault-tolerant database service that performs up to 5x faster than standard MySQL and 3x faster than PostgreSQL databases. As one of AWS's fastest-growing services, you'll have direct impact on thousands of users worldwide.

The DEX team focuses on enhancing developer productivity through improved capabilities beyond the RDS Console. Key focus areas include fast provisioning, secure connectivity, and enhanced developer experience. Operating like a startup with the resources of the world's largest cloud provider, we maintain a flat organizational structure and casual office environment.

You'll be part of the Utility Computing (UC) organization, which drives AWS's foundational services like S3 and EC2. We're seeking engineers passionate about optimizing development experiences at scale, solving complex technical challenges, and staying current with industry trends.

The role offers extensive growth opportunities through knowledge-sharing and mentorship programs. AWS values diverse experiences and fosters an inclusive culture through employee-led affinity groups and ongoing learning experiences. We emphasize work-life harmony with flexible arrangements.

As part of the Aurora team, you'll contribute to a service that powers mission-critical workloads for many of the world's fastest-growing businesses. Your work will directly influence how developers interact with and leverage Aurora's capabilities, making their daily tasks more efficient and productive.
