Description For Software Development Engineer, Automated Reasoning Identity

Do you want to work hard, have fun, and make history? Do you think fast, dive deep, and get things done? We're looking for an engineer to help strengthen our customers' security with automation for managed controls. AWS Identity provides the bedrock for secure and continuous access to all AWS services. By quickly connecting millions of users across the world, we empower organizations and enterprises to accelerate their cloud and digital transformation.

Engineers within AWS Identity need to be creative, responsible, and curious while working with others to move quickly in turning code into customer solutions. You're excited about rolling up your sleeves, implementing ideas, and learning from those around you. You relish the opportunity to dig into challenging operational issues, fix them permanently while taking the learning back as you design the next iteration.

You will interact with internal teams and external customers to understand their requirements. You will apply your knowledge to propose innovative solutions, create software prototypes, and productize prototypes into production systems using software development tools and methodologies. In addition, you will support and scale your solutions to meet the ever-growing demand of customer use.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Interact with various teams to develop an understanding of security practices and the use of managed controls.
  • Apply the acquired knowledge to build automated solutions to find problems, or show the absence of security/safety problems.
  • Design and build scalable systems that evolve with the growth of AWS.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance.
  • Create software prototypes to verify and validate the devised solutions methodologies; integrate the prototypes into production systems using standard software development tools and methodologies.
  • Can present company-wide technical decisions to the internal technical community and represent the company effectively at technical conferences.
  • Functional thought leader, sought after for key tech decisions. Can successfully present ideas to an executive level decision maker.

About the team: AWS Identity provides services that enable customers to control who can access what in the cloud. Our services enable identity, resource, and access management as well as governance across all of our customers' AWS accounts.

Utility Computing (UC): AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
