Software Development Engineer, AWS Commercial Applications - VMware

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their Commercial Applications team within Amazon EC2. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work on transformative virtualization capabilities that will revolutionize how enterprise workloads are run in the cloud.

The position focuses on building new capabilities to help customers run VMware-based workloads on AWS, working alongside outstanding builders, principal engineers, and business leaders. The role combines technical expertise with customer interaction, requiring both strong engineering skills and excellent communication abilities.

As a member of the team, you'll be:

• Designing and developing highly available large-scale services
• Building new virtualization capabilities for enterprise workloads
• Creating integrations with external software applications
• Participating in product definition and technical design reviews
• Working directly with customers to understand and meet their needs

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of professional software development experience, strong architecture and design skills, and comprehensive knowledge of software engineering best practices. Experience with J2EE technologies is a plus.

The compensation package is comprehensive, ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 based on location and experience, plus equity opportunities and full benefits.
