Software Development Engineer, AWS Edge Connectivity

AWS Edge Connectivity service is a crucial initiative enabling AWS Cloud connectivity options for US Intelligence and Department of Defense customers. This role focuses on building and maintaining secure network pathways for sensitive workloads in isolated environments. As a Software Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for architecting and implementing sophisticated security protocols across Wide Area Networks (WANs) and developing control and dataplane systems to protect critical customer connections.

The position is part of the AWS Utility Computing (UC) organization, which provides foundational services like S3 and EC2, along with continuous product innovations. You'll work in an Agile environment with daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Program Management and Single-Threaded Owners.

The role requires strong expertise in network encryption and software development, with a focus on building distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective. You'll have the opportunity to influence product direction through data-backed technical insights and mentor team members while participating in an on-call rotation approximately four times per year.
