Software Development Engineer, AWS Edge Connectivity

AWS Edge Connectivity is a critical service enabling US Intelligence and Department of Defense customers to securely connect to AWS Cloud. This role sits at the intersection of cloud computing and national security, focusing on building and maintaining secure network pathways for sensitive government workloads.

As a Software Development Engineer in the AWS Edge Connectivity team, you'll be responsible for architecting and implementing sophisticated network security solutions that enable government customers to access their dedicated cloud environments. You'll work with cutting-edge technology to develop distributed systems that manage encrypted network connections, ensuring both security and performance at scale.

The position offers unique challenges in building scalable, fault-tolerant systems while meeting stringent security requirements. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology experts across Amazon, to define the next generation of dedicated cloud connectivity. Your work will directly impact how government agencies access and utilize their mission-critical cloud infrastructure.

The team follows Agile methodology, with regular stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog grooming sessions. You'll participate in annual program planning and quarterly prioritization meetings, ensuring your work aligns with organizational goals. The role includes on-call responsibilities approximately four times per year.
