Description For Software Development Engineer - AWS Identity & Access Mgmt., AWS Identity Center

AWS Identity Center (formerly AWS Single Sign-On) is seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE 2) to join their dynamic team focused on workforce identity solutions. This role is part of AWS Identity, a pioneer in identity, access management, and security, developing some of the world's largest distributed systems.

The team's mission is enabling identities to seamlessly access authorized resources across AWS services and third-party applications. You'll work on AWS Identity Center, which allows customers to centrally manage access to AWS accounts and business applications through directory integration or native user pools.

As an SDE, you'll own the complete software development lifecycle - from design to production deployment. You'll collaborate with senior engineers on the technology roadmap, architect scalable solutions, and mentor junior team members. The role emphasizes building fault-tolerant systems, maintaining high code quality through thorough reviews, and resolving complex operational challenges.

The team values work-life balance, implementing robust systems to minimize off-hours incidents. On-call responsibilities are shared, occurring approximately one week every two months. When issues arise, the team works collectively to implement permanent solutions.

You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy:

  • Designing elegant solutions to complex identity and access management challenges
  • Working in an agile environment with global impact
  • Learning new technologies and sharing knowledge
  • Building reliable, scalable distributed systems
  • Contributing to a diverse, inclusive team culture

AWS offers competitive compensation ($129,300-$223,600 base salary range), equity, comprehensive benefits, and strong career growth opportunities. Join a team that's shaping the future of cloud identity and access management while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
