Software Development Engineer, AWS Proactive Security Detective Tooling

Join the AWS Proactive Security Detective Tooling team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Software Development Engineer focused on security-at-scale. This role is part of the Resource Security team within AWS PSDT, responsible for ensuring all cloud resource configurations meet AWS Security standards. You'll work on building large-scale distributed systems that monitor and protect AWS network hosts and their configurations across more than 100 AWS services including EC2 and S3.

The position offers unique challenges in processing immense quantities of data and implementing advanced analytical techniques to identify and mitigate security threats. You'll collaborate closely with Application Security, Threat Intel, Security Operations, and Security Analyst teams to drive security improvements across AWS. This high-visibility role provides an opportunity to solve security challenges at massive scale through automation.

As a technical leader, you'll be responsible for developing robust distributed systems, mentoring team members, and establishing best practices. The role combines software development expertise with security focus, though prior security expertise isn't required. You'll gain comprehensive understanding of AWS security posture while developing core technology components for improvement and scaling.
