Description For Software Development Engineer - AWS Systems Manager, AWS Systems Manager

Our team, AWS Systems Manager, is looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to build and maintain the open source amazon-ssm-agent, which is crucial to providing safe and secure operating capabilities for our customers. AWS Systems Manager is the operations hub for the AWS cloud, offering a unified operational dashboard to view data from multiple AWS services, manage large fleets of instances, manage distributed applications as a single unit, and automate operational tasks and workflows.

As an SDE on this team, you'll be part of a world-class group that values diversity and leverages various backgrounds and skill sets to deliver results. You'll work on a product that many IT administrators and DevOps engineers rely on to operate their infrastructure safely and securely at scale.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the amazon-ssm-agent
  • Contribute to the full software development life cycle
  • Collaborate with a diverse team to drive innovation
  • Ensure safe and secure operations for AWS customers

Required qualifications:

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience with Rust and/or Go programming languages
