Software Development Engineer, Conversational AI Modeling and Learning

The Conversational AI Modeling and Learning (CAMEL) team at Amazon is seeking a passionate, talented, and inventive Software Development Engineer/Machine Learning Engineer to play a pivotal role in developing industry-leading conversational assistant capabilities. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies in Generative AI, including fine-tuning, In-Context Learning (ICL), and various prompt optimization techniques.

Key responsibilities include:

• Quickly learning and applying cutting-edge technologies and algorithms in Generative AI
• Developing and maintaining key platforms for developing, evaluating, and deploying large language models for conversational agents
• Collaborating with team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technologies, and evaluate technical feasibility
• Working closely with Applied Scientists to process massive data and scale machine learning models while optimizing performance
• Operating in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software against aggressive schedules

As an SDE with the CAMEL team, you will lead the development of high-performance, low-latency, cutting-edge prompt engineering solutions to advance state-of-the-art Conversational agents. Your work will directly impact customers through products and services utilizing conversational agent innovations. You'll leverage Amazon's heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate development with multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) to improve Conversational Excellence.

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including a base pay range of $129,300/year to $223,600/year, depending on geographic market and job-related factors.
