Project Kuiper, an ambitious Amazon initiative, is revolutionizing global connectivity through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). This role presents a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge embedded software development for satellite systems that will help bridge the digital divide worldwide.

As an Embedded Software Engineer on the Flight Computer Software team, you'll be at the forefront of developing critical satellite functions including power management, hardware interfaces, command & telemetry, and autonomous control. The position requires expertise in real-time operating systems and low-level programming, working with various communication protocols like I2C, SPI, and Ethernet.

The role offers an exciting blend of hardware and software development, where you'll collaborate closely with hardware teams on board bring-up and integration testing. You'll be responsible for writing device drivers and system applications for flight code, directly contributing to the satellite's core functionality.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year, depending on location and experience, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical coverage. The role is based in Seattle, WA, and due to export control requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or have asylum/refugee status.

Join Project Kuiper to be part of a mission that's not just about technological innovation, but about making a real difference in providing internet access to underserved communities globally.
