Software Development Engineer

Amazon Lab126 is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their Amazon Common Software (ACS) team, which launched in February 2020. ACS develops software that accelerates the development of smart home devices and Amazon services integration, including Alexa.

As a founding member of this cross-functional team, you'll work on critical Android framework components, services, tools, and application development frameworks. The role involves pushing the boundaries of customer-device interaction while collaborating with experienced professionals across various disciplines.

Lab126, established in 2004 as an Amazon subsidiary, has a strong track record of creating successful consumer electronics, including the Kindle family, Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Echo, and Amazon Show. The position offers an opportunity to work on innovative consumer products from concept to launch.

Your responsibilities will include engaging with Amazon device software teams, product management, external partners, internal application developers, and service teams. You'll participate in designing, prototyping, and building solutions to complex problems in the Android and Amazon ecosystem.

The compensation is competitive, ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year based on geographic location, plus additional benefits including equity and comprehensive medical coverage.
