Description For Software Development Engineer II, EU S&OP Automation

Amazon Supply Chain is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join their European Sales and Operations Planning (EU S&OP) team, specifically working on the Planning Automation Modules (PAM) team. This role is crucial in revolutionizing how S&OP generates plans, building infrastructure to support global-scale operations. The position offers an opportunity to work on systems that manage inventory flows across more than 300 Fulfillment Centers globally.

The ideal candidate will be a force multiplier within the team, serving as a role model and mentor to other SDEs. They will work on highly distributed systems at scale, implementing design patterns like CDKs, libraries, and versioning. The role requires strong operational experience and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams.

As part of Amazon's Supply Chain organization, you'll be contributing to the world's fastest-growing e-commerce business, focusing on customer-centric solutions. The team manages everything from vendor/seller inventory receipt to Fulfillment Center shipments, with an emphasis on reliability, speed, cost, and sustainability.

This is a Day 1 opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team building from the ground up. You'll have significant autonomy to solve complex problems and see your contributions benefit Operation teams worldwide. The role involves working with various technologies and programming languages, with responsibilities spanning all aspects of software development.

The position offers the chance to work on critical systems that drive decisions for worldwide Operation teams, bringing both scale and responsibility. You'll collaborate with Supply Chain Optimization Technology teams in North America and internal stakeholders across Transportation, Labor Planning, and Finance teams.

Requirements For Software Development Engineer II, EU S&OP Automation

  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
  • Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems
  • Experience with design patterns, reliability and scaling
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent (preferred)
