Description For Software Development Engineer II, Frontier Outposts, Ostara Team

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join their EC2 Edge Frontier Outposts team, a groundbreaking initiative that's reshaping cloud computing. This role offers a unique startup-like opportunity within AWS to build a new line of business from the ground up, focusing on AWS Outposts - fully managed compute and storage racks that extend AWS services to customer data centers.

The position is part of the AWS Utility Computing (UC) organization, which is responsible for foundational services like Amazon S3 and EC2, along with continuous product innovations. You'll be working with a Vancouver-based team dedicated to building key services supporting Outpost hardware, offering a distinctive perspective on AWS technology through site services development and operation.

As an SDE II, you'll be instrumental in developing and managing compute, database, storage, IoT, platform, and productivity apps services. The role demands expertise in various programming languages and technologies, from AWS Lambda to bare metal scripting. You'll lead feature development, participate in the complete software development lifecycle, and maintain operational responsibility for services.

The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of professional software development experience and a strong background in system design and architecture.
