Amazon's Work Authorization team is building a groundbreaking system to streamline employee work authorization processes across 60+ countries. As a Software Development Engineer III on the Personal Information Domain (PID) Platform and Identity Management Services (IDMS) team, you'll lead the development of full-stack enterprise solutions using cloud technologies. The role involves building both customer-facing experiences and backend services for managing personal information globally, focusing on pre-boarding processes and identity management.

You'll be responsible for designing and implementing highly scalable solutions that impact millions of Amazonians worldwide. The position requires exceptional design skills, technical judgment, and problem-solving abilities. You'll own critical services for duplicate detection, login creation, and profile management, working in an agile environment with fast-paced delivery cycles.

  • Own and heavily influence the architecture and design of systems
  • Write critical-path code for work authorization determination systems
  • Lead technical and business strategy
  • Contribute to all aspects of agile software development lifecycle
  • Design and implement highly scalable solutions
  • Own and enhance duplicate detection, login and identity creation, profile management
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, SDMs and stakeholders

Requirements For Software Development Engineer III, Employee Onboarding and Administration, Personal Information Domain/Identity Domain

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Experience with full software development life cycle
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent (preferred)
