Description For Software Development Engineer, Inventory Genealogy

Amazon's Inventory Genealogy team is seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE2) to lead their Genealogy platform development. This role focuses on shaping the future of inventory tracking and defect detection systems, handling approximately 1 billion daily inventory events. The position involves building sophisticated knowledge graphs, developing scalable storage solutions, and creating high-performance APIs for Amazon's fulfillment network.

The role requires expertise in big data technologies, cloud computing, and database management. You'll work within Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT), which powers Amazon's global fulfillment network through software, hardware, and data science solutions. The team is responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of physical goods across Amazon's fulfillment network.

As an SDE2, you'll collaborate with a team of engineers to influence overall strategy and define the team's roadmap. You'll be responsible for system architecture, implementing best practices, and mentoring junior engineers.
