Description For Software Development Engineer, Kuiper Government Solutions

Project Kuiper is an innovative initiative by Amazon focused on launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

As a Software Development Engineer in the Kuiper Government Solutions team, you'll be at the forefront of developing critical APIs and interfaces linking Kuiper capabilities to US Government customers including NASA, DoD, and other National Security customers. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining software services for mission-critical space safety and sustainability applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing APIs and interface software utilizing network topology understanding and Software Defined Networking
  • Creating and demonstrating capabilities in simulated test environments
  • Leading internal and vendor teams in software development
  • Ensuring systems meet both Kuiper and US Government performance requirements
  • Managing project health, risks, and stakeholder communication

The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year based on location, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, financial, and potential equity compensation. This position requires US citizenship due to government requirements and offers relocation benefits to Redmond, WA.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent (preferred)
