Description For Software Development Engineer, Prime Video & Studios

Prime Video's Android Player team is seeking an exceptional engineer to spearhead AI/DL inference architectures and algorithms implementation to enhance customer experience. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance video playback software that serves millions of Android and Amazon Fire/Echo devices.

The role involves contributing to technical strategy and developing reusable, object-oriented software using established patterns like MVC, Composite, and Delegate. You'll work with cutting-edge video streaming technologies including audio/video codecs (AVC, HEVC, AAC, AC-3), DRM systems, and streaming protocols (DASH, HLS).

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing Edge AI/DL inference algorithms for video optimization across various platforms and processing elements (GPU, NPU). The focus is on achieving high-quality, high frame-rate playback without compromising performance.

The team's mission centers on building and operating an innovative video streaming technology stack that delivers the best customer experience for VOD and Live content globally. They support various business models including subscription, transactional, and ad-supported streaming.
