Description For Software Development Engineer, Project Kuiper Mobile App

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission is to deliver fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide, serving consumers, businesses, and government agencies.

As a Software Engineer on the Kuiper Mobile App team, you'll work on developing native Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift) applications. The role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of satellite broadband connectivity through mobile applications. You'll be responsible for both iOS and Android stacks, working with cutting-edge technologies while having significant influence over the product direction.

The team owns the Kuiper Residential Mobile App, which is crucial for customer onboarding, service plan management, and home network setup. You'll collaborate closely with UX Designers and Product Managers to create intuitive user experiences, lead technical discussions, and mentor junior developers.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading design and feature delivery in a collaborative environment
  • Driving process improvements and best practices
  • Working cross-functionally with partner teams
  • Adapting to evolving requirements in a fast-paced environment

The team culture emphasizes people over process, with a highly collaborative environment where every team member's voice matters. You'll be part of a groundbreaking project that aims to close the digital divide globally while working with the latest mobile technologies.
