Description For Software Development Engineer, Tax Platform Services

Amazon's Tax Platform Services team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to work on one of the world's largest transactional distributed systems. This role is crucial in developing and maintaining the tax calculation platform that handles tax computations (sales tax and VAT) for all Amazon sales globally, both physical and digital. The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge distributed systems that manage hundreds of millions of records and process millions of service requests per minute.

The role involves working in a Java, Linux, and Oracle-based environment, where you'll be responsible for the complete software development lifecycle. You'll collaborate with customers and peers across Amazon's various business units to develop new features and enhance existing systems. The position requires strong technical skills in distributed systems design and development, with a focus on building highly scalable and reliable solutions.

The role offers excellent growth opportunities and the chance to work with some of the most sophisticated tax calculation systems in e-commerce. You'll be part of a team that values innovation, scalability, and reliability, while working in an environment that encourages professional growth and technical excellence.

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $129,300 to $223,600 depending on location, plus equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive benefits.
