Description For Software Development Engineer, UTR, Last Mile

Amazon's Last Mile delivery network is seeking a Software Development Engineer for their UTR Tech team within Amazon Logistics (AMZL). This role focuses on building scalable tools and technology for delivery hubs that handle the crucial "Last Mile" of package delivery. You'll work on the Node Receive COD team, handling package receiving processes and cash-on-delivery reconciliations.

As an SDE-2, you'll be instrumental in developing solutions that power Amazon's worldwide delivery hubs, where packages are received, sorted, and prepared for on-road delivery. The role involves building tools that enhance associate productivity, site throughput, and operational quality across multiple programs including Amazon Logistics (AMZL) and Global Specialty Fulfilment (GSF).

Your work will directly impact delivery station associates, station managers, central operations teams, and on-road delivery agents. You'll create systems that reduce cognitive load, standardize processes, and ensure customer SLAs are met. This position requires both technical expertise and business acumen, as you'll be responsible for translating complex business needs into practical technology solutions.

The role offers the opportunity to work on challenging problems at global scale, building systems that must perform reliably across Amazon's vast delivery network. You'll collaborate with various teams and stakeholders, contributing to both detailed technical implementation and high-level architectural decisions. This position is perfect for engineers who want to combine hands-on development with strategic technical leadership in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
