Description For Software Development Engineer, Video Quality Analysis (VQA), Prime Video

Come build the future of entertainment with us at Prime Video, a premium streaming service offering a vast collection of TV shows, movies, and Amazon Originals. We're seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our Video Quality Analysis (VQA) team in London. You'll work on developing industry-leading mechanisms to detect video defects automatically and instantly across the video pipeline.

Our team uses cutting-edge technologies including foundational models, transformer-based architectures, masked autoencoders, image processing, computer vision, and machine learning to create novel algorithms for assessing video quality and detecting defects. We optimize these algorithms for accuracy, efficiency, and speed to provide real-time results.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing detectors using deep computer vision and Machine Learning techniques
  • Conducting research to identify defects with high accuracy and low friction
  • Optimizing algorithms for low latency and cost-effective operation at scale
  • Collaborating with teams across Amazon and leading universities
  • Contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems

We offer a dynamic environment where innovation is key, and you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of how customers experience video content. Join us in advancing the state-of-the-art in objective measures for image and audio quality prediction.

This role requires strong SDE computer science skills, particularly in algorithmic performance and data structures. You'll be part of a diverse team of engineers, applied scientists, and AWS experts, all learning and growing together.

If you're passionate about solving complex problems, working with the latest technologies, and making a significant impact on how millions of customers consume entertainment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
