Global Talent Management & Compensation (GTMC) at Amazon is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead an engineering group in Seattle. This role is part of a strategic initiative to revolutionize how Amazonians navigate their careers. The team builds intelligent products and services that deliver consumer-grade user experiences while managing talent development at Amazon.

As a Software Development Manager, you'll lead engineers in building front-end experiences and back-end services supporting GTMC's 3-year vision. The role involves evolving the current product into a task-based experience with modern UI and intelligent services. You'll work with teams across multiple locations, including NYC and Edinburgh, Scotland.

The position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in web services development, and experience in managing engineering teams. You'll be responsible for building a highly performing engineering team, driving product development strategy, and architecting intelligent services. Daily activities include leading standups, working with product teams on roadmap discussions, collaborating on technical designs, and focusing on employee development through 1:1s.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of engineering team management experience, 7+ years of engineering experience, and proven expertise in multi-tier web services development. You'll work in an environment that embraces Amazon's leadership principles while helping maintain its "Day One" culture as the company grows beyond 1 million employees.

The compensation package is comprehensive, ranging from $166,400 to $287,700 based on location, plus equity, sign-on payments, and full benefits.
