Description For Software Engineer, Project Kuiper - Software and Business Services

Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative by Amazon to launch a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) to provide global broadband access. The Field Services Management (FSM) team plays a crucial role in ensuring successful customer antenna installations for Kuiper internet access. As a Software Engineer on the FSM team, you'll be responsible for developing systems that manage technician hiring, training, territory management, scheduling, dispatch, and workforce management. The role involves integration with Kuiper's customer-facing applications and service systems.

The position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to build stable, performant software solutions. You'll work in a collaborative environment that values pragmatic design approaches and clean, maintainable code. The team emphasizes creating flexible solutions without over-engineering and making appropriate technical trade-offs.

The Software and Networking organization you'll be joining is responsible for the entire software infrastructure that controls Kuiper's satellite constellation, ground infrastructure, and network services. This is a unique opportunity to work on technology that will help bridge the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or refugee/asylum status due to export control laws. You'll be working from the Redmond, WA office in an in-person capacity, contributing to a culture that is collaborative, empathetic, inclusive, and diverse.

The compensation is competitive, ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year based on location and experience, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Join us in building industry-changing technology that will make a significant impact on global internet accessibility.
