Join Amazon's Global Central Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team as a Solar Performance Engineer in a role that combines engineering excellence with renewable energy innovation. This position focuses on supervising solar systems across EU and supporting the global network, including locations in India, Australia, and Japan. You'll be part of a dynamic team working on optimizing solar and battery performance of assets, utilizing your analytical skills and electrical systems troubleshooting expertise in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers a hybrid working model from Berlin offices, where you'll collaborate with technology owners, central reliability teams, regional solar asset managers, operational sites, and maintenance vendors. You'll be instrumental in ensuring safety, optimum performance, efficiency, and cost management of Amazon's solar program in EU.

As a Solar Performance Engineer, you'll leverage your expertise in data analytics, SQL, and Python to develop and improve tools for renewable energy performance analysis. You'll work with various data acquisition systems, perform root cause analysis, and provide critical problem-solving support for both active assets and those in commissioning.

  • Work as a subject matter expert to optimize solar and battery performance
  • Serve as an escalation point for critical or complex problem solving
  • Establish means to identify underperformance and provide resolutions
  • Perform root cause analysis on system components
  • Maintain data integrity and manage operational data
  • Work with SQL database to build and deliver automated custom reports
  • Develop new or improve existing tools for renewable energy performance analytics
  • Help automate and improve performance reporting capabilities

Requirements For Solar Performance Engineer, Global Central Reliability Team (GCRT)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with data analytics experience, or equivalent practical experience
  • Advanced understanding of control relays, inverters, and other balance of systems equipment
  • SQL and Python proficiency
  • Experience with analytical tools such as Power BI and Tableau
  • Experience working with data acquisition systems
  • Fluency in English required
