Solutions Architect, AWS, WWPS SA -SLG/EDU East

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to accelerate our growing State and Local Government business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. This role involves helping customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions, solving technical problems, and shaping strategies to build broad use of AWS services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning technical engagements and implementation projects
• Defining implementation architectures and responding to RFPs
• Developing expertise in AWS technologies and application construction
• Being a subject matter expert on security for customer applications and services
• Providing technical design and thought leadership to customers
• Capturing and sharing best practices within the AWS solution architect community
• Contributing to customer-facing publications like white papers
• Conducting training sessions for customers (Dev Days or Immersion Days)
• Acting as a technical liaison between customers, Service Teams, and Support

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience in designing, implementing, or consulting on applications and infrastructures
• Expertise in specific technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering)
• Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries
• Familiarity with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
• Experience migrating legacy solutions to the cloud
• Strong presentation skills and ability to conduct technical discussions
