Solutions Design Engineer, SSD Solutions

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Solutions Design Engineer for their SSD Solutions team within the Robotic Storage Technology organization. This role combines innovation with practical problem-solving to design next-generation Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs).

The position involves evaluating and creating physical processing and material handling solutions using cutting-edge technology, robotics, and data analytics. You'll be part of a team that owns designs from concept to sustaining, supporting 76 live SSD sites in the US, and launching new automated storage and retrieval systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Analyzing and optimizing existing Robotic FC performance
• Creating new state-of-the-art robotic material handling systems
• Developing models to solve complex problems
• Coordinating with systems and operations engineering teams
• Managing multiple projects while communicating with various stakeholders

The SSD Solutions team is expanding, expected to double in size, focusing on Sub-Same-Day business needs - specifically combined fulfillment and last-mile building operations that can deliver packages within 5 hours of order placement. The team manages storage systems for 100K unique ASINs.
