Amazon is embarking on an exciting green field project to revolutionize automotive shopping experiences. We're building new discovery and shopping products that connect customers with their ideal vehicles. As a Senior Applied Scientist, you'll join a dynamic team of product managers, designers, and engineers to create innovative automotive-shopping experiences.

The role focuses on designing and implementing cutting-edge computer vision machine learning systems for item understanding, pose estimation, class imbalanced classifiers, identification, and segmentation. You'll work with paradigms like deep learning, semi-supervised learning, and dynamic learning to transform ideas into products.

This position offers a unique opportunity to solve unprecedented challenges at scale, working with state-of-the-art technology in AI and robotics. You'll be responsible for architecting ML models, optimizing edge deployments, and leading technical initiatives that directly impact millions of consumers.

Responsibilities For Sr. Applied Scientist, Campaign and Creative

  • Architect, design, and implement Machine Learning models for vision systems
  • Optimize, deploy, and support at scale ML models on the edge
  • Influence team's strategy and contribute to long-term vision and roadmap
  • Work with stakeholders across science and operations teams
  • Maintain high standards through reviews and designing for fault tolerance
  • Prototype and test concepts through simulation and with live robotic equipment
  • Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes
  • Mentor other engineer team members

Requirements For Sr. Applied Scientist, Campaign and Creative

Python
Java
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
  • Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy
  • Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark
