Amazon is seeking a Senior Automotive Audio Engineer to revolutionize the digital cabin experience through Large Language Models (LLM) and Large Acoustic Models (LAM) integration in vehicles. This role combines cutting-edge AI technology with automotive audio expertise, focusing on developing and implementing next-generation voice technology solutions like Alexa+ and Alexa Custom Assistant.

The position requires a deep understanding of acoustic engineering, digital signal processing, and automotive audio systems. Responsibilities For Sr. Automotive Audio Engineer, Amazon Smart Vehicles

  • Lead audio and acoustic readiness for LLM and LAM integration in vehicles
  • Create and review test standards with stakeholders
  • Conduct performance tests for new products like LLM-based Alexa+
  • Define product performance metrics with internal teams
  • Fine tune acoustic models for new products
  • Work with external partners on vehicle audio hardware optimization
  • Gather vehicle data and conduct benchmark studies
  • Develop tools for scaling speech profile data
  • Write algorithms for data acquisition automation
  • Create validation requirements for LLM era products
  • Work with automotive OEMs and Tier 1s on certification specifications
  • Travel 10-20% domestically and internationally

Requirements For Sr. Automotive Audio Engineer, Amazon Smart Vehicles

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Physics, EE, ME or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in automotive audio product development
  • Knowledge of audio digital signal processing
  • Knowledge of ITU and ETSI standards for speech, voice and telephony testing
  • Experience with writing Matlab or Python scripts for acoustic testing and data analysis
  • Experience with acoustic measurement instruments
  • Experience with audio data acquisition and analysis systems
  • Understanding of analog/digital MEMS microphone specs
  • Understanding of beamforming array technology
