The Data Center Construction Cost Control (CCC) team at Amazon is seeking a Senior Construction Cost Engineer to join their innovative team dedicated to deploying evolving data center facilities across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Responsibilities For Sr. Construction Cost Engineer, EMEA Construction Cost Control
- Engaging and managing third party Quantity Surveyors
- Validating construction cost estimates at various stages of design
- Working seamlessly with multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external
- Communicating cost control goals to all stakeholders effectively
- Identify Value Engineering opportunities in the design and quantify the savings
- Identify project risks and financial cost impacts
- Updating repository for historical data
- Defining and tracking cost performance metrics and leading monthly cost reporting
- Analyzing vendor proposals using AWS benchmark data
- Creating accurate bid leveling documents
- Validating final award amount and scope based on contract documents
- Implementing cost control, change management, and performance reporting
- Validating construction change cost impacts
- Ensuring vendor invoices are accurate and timely
- Supporting project close-out and final payments
Requirements For Sr. Construction Cost Engineer, EMEA Construction Cost Control
- 8+ years of experience in construction cost control, with specific knowledge of electrical, mechanical or CSA cost elements
- Experience communicating estimate strategy to construction and non-construction professionals
- Experience with Data Center or other mission critical construction environments
- Experience with estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, Onscreen takeoff, Timberline and Bluebeam
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
