Description For Sr. Construction Manager, Data Center Construction

AWS Infrastructure Services leads the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure - the backbone of cloud computing. This role is for a Data Center Construction Manager position within AWS, where you'll be part of the team responsible for keeping the cloud running. You'll manage the construction of Amazon's industry-leading data centers, focusing on energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

As a Construction Manager, you'll oversee complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. You'll work directly with various teams including Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to deliver data centers that support AWS customers. Responsibilities For Sr. Construction Manager, Data Center Construction

  • Own project scope, quality, schedule, and budget for construction of new builds or general capital projects
  • Own construction project management and oversight of construction related activities
  • Work alongside partner teams to build Data Centers
  • Be Amazon's construction representative on multiple data centers
  • Direct interface with construction general contractors
  • Create construction project scope and request for proposals
  • Manage and drive cost, schedule, and quality while managing construction contractors and vendors
  • Support commissioning and integrated system testing and oversight
  • Analyze and report construction progress and financials
  • Contribute to construction initiatives aimed at improving construction efficiency

Requirements For Sr. Construction Manager, Data Center Construction

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent engineering science plus 7+ years of relevant construction experience, OR 11+ years of relevant construction experience
  • 6+ years of experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants
  • 6+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience
