AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join their data center construction team. This role is crucial in maintaining AWS's global infrastructure, which powers their cloud computing services. The position involves overseeing the construction of state-of-the-art data centers, managing complex electrical and mechanical systems, and ensuring project delivery meets AWS's high standards for safety, security, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will serve as Amazon's owner's representative on construction sites, managing all aspects of data center construction including cost control, scheduling, and quality assurance. They will work closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to deliver industry-leading, energy-efficient data center facilities.

Responsibilities For Sr Construction Manager, Ohio Data Center Construction
- Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project closeout phases
- Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals
- Create construction project scope and request for proposals
- Financial analysis of construction
- Construction project management for data center initiatives
- Constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs
- Construction document management including submittal review, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing
- Construction project quality control
- Record and report key construction metrics
- Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis
- Define data center system-level architecture and maintain project documentation
Requirements For Sr Construction Manager, Ohio Data Center Construction
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent engineering science Degree +7 years experience
- 6 years of experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale MEP plants
- 6 years of general contractor and vendor management experience
- Experience working with cross function teams
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA
- Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings
- Understanding of data center system-level architecture and electrical engineering principles
- Understanding of mechanical engineering principles for cooling systems
