AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Senior Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer to join their Field Engineering team. This role is crucial in supporting AWS's global infrastructure, specifically focusing on data center operations and maintenance. As the 'go-to' engineering resource for your region, you'll provide comprehensive lifecycle support for AWS Data Centers, from initial design through maintenance and improvements.

The ideal candidate will bring strong engineering judgment, leadership capabilities, and extensive experience in mission-critical facilities. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting complex systems, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing solutions that enhance data center capacity, availability, and efficiency. Responsibilities For Sr. Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers
  • Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis for site/equipment failures
  • Support operational issues with training and procedure reviews
  • Own conceptual design for data center upgrades
  • Interface with internal teams to maintain consistency and reliability
  • Lead engineering audits and produce risk assessment reports
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects
  • Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions

Requirements For Sr. Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering
  • Experience with mission critical facilities, especially data centers
  • Knowledge of mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment/design
  • Experience with EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls systems
  • Knowledge of continuous operating redundant electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
