Description For Sr Elec Colo Regional Engineer, Colo Regional Engineering

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to innovation.

As a Sr Elec Colo Regional Engineer, you will:

  • Work with internal business teams and colocation vendors to identify, document, and resolve operational/design deficiencies
  • Provide full life-cycle support to Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance
  • Be the 'go-to' engineering resource for your region
  • Lead projects to fit out data centers to meet evolving customer needs
  • Review designs for new Data Centers, including design input and submittal review
  • Act as resident engineer during new colo construction projects
  • Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation
  • Support operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews
  • Provide technical support for existing data center upgrades
  • Interface with various teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability
  • Initiate and lead engineering site audits within leased or colo data centers

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities
  • Fluent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission-critical facilities, especially data centers
  • Experience as resident engineer or hands-on design consultant
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers
