As a Senior Embedded Engineer, you'll work with a multidisciplinary team to transform groundbreaking ideas into full-scale production devices used by thousands of associates worldwide. You'll be part of the firmware team, comprised of talented engineers who apply advanced robotics solutions to real-world challenges. The role requires strong technical expertise in embedded systems, particularly with C/C++ programming, and experience with safety-critical systems. Responsibilities For Sr. Embedded Engineer, Amazon Robotics

  • Develop and maintain both safety and non-safety rated systems for autonomous robot fleet
  • Learn and master multiple components including networking/wifi, security, and various sensors
  • Participate in system architecture and collaborate with coworkers
  • Provide feedback in peer review process and communicate with technical leadership
  • Create solutions balancing world-class performance and safety
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and debug robotic systems
  • Participate in design process and safety hazard analysis
  • Implement new products and features
  • Write automated tests and perform live testing
  • Debug systems at Fulfillment centers when needed

Requirements For Sr. Embedded Engineer, Amazon Robotics

Linux
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • 5+ years of development experience in C or C++ within an embedded environment
  • Direct hands-on experience designing, developing, and debugging consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive systems, avionics, industrial, or telecommunications product
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent (preferred)
  • Experience with safety standards like IEC 61508 or ISO 26262 (preferred)
