Amazon Lab126, the innovative team behind the Silicon IP AZ1 Neural Edge powering Echo devices, is seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer to join their Device Security team. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development of secure boot firmware for custom SoCs. The position requires deep expertise in secure boot architectures, including Arm Trusted Firmware, public key infrastructure, and chain of trust concepts.

  • Provide technical leadership for secure boot firmware and software development
  • Contribute to definition, development, integration, and testing of custom SoCs
  • Manage secure OTP configurations and extend secure boot chain
  • Authenticate bootROM code and establish root of trust
  • Validate subsequent boot stages
  • Document and support firmware systems

Requirements For Sr. Embedded Engineer - Device Security, HW Compute Group

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture experience
  • Experience in embedded development in C/C++
  • Experience writing low level drivers
  • Experience with interrupt service routines
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Knowledge of secure boot architectures and Arm Trusted Firmware
  • Understanding of public key infrastructure and cryptographic modules
