Ring, an Amazon company at the forefront of home security technology, is seeking a Senior Hardware Safety & Reliability Engineer to join their Product Integrity team. This role is crucial in ensuring the development of reliable and robust security products that consistently exceed customer expectations.

As a Sr. Hardware Safety & Reliability Engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping the safety and reliability standards of Ring's innovative product line, including doorbells, spotlights, and cameras. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute comprehensive reliability and safety test plans, while serving as the primary stakeholder for long-term product integrity.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in risk assessment frameworks, consumer product failure mechanisms, and engineering fundamentals. You'll be responsible for developing new safety specifications, building reliable technologies, and ensuring products meet specifications throughout their expected lifecycle. Your expertise will directly influence design decisions for reliability, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities For Sr. Hardware Safety & Reliability Engineer, Ring Product Integrity

  • Be a technical leader supporting junior engineers and design teams on safety and reliability issues
  • Develop and manage Product Integrity Design for Reliability and Safety process
  • Define test specifications, methodology and test coverage
  • Translate product business requirements into safety and reliability qualification plans
  • Lead product risk assessments with cross-functional teams
  • Direct reliability and safety testing at external and internal labs
  • Establish reliability prediction of failure mechanisms
  • Approve electrical, mechanical and energy source designs for all NPI programs

Requirements For Sr. Hardware Safety & Reliability Engineer, Ring Product Integrity

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field
  • Five years of experience in a related occupation
  • Experienced communication skills in writing and presenting
  • Experience with process and plan development, hardware design, hardware reliability testing
  • Experience in data analytics, statistical analysis
  • Ability to generate and execute Design of Experiments and analyze results
  • Knowledge of Consumer Electronics Products, Building Standards, DFMEA, DfS, Human Factors
