Sr. Industrial Designer, SSD Design Engineering

Amazon's Rural and Rapid Logistics Design team (R2L) is seeking an experienced Industrial Designer to join their Design Engineering team. This role focuses on developing, designing, and delivering next-generation fulfillment, delivery, and transportation systems. The position involves driving process engineering, building design, and standardization across Amazon's Last Mile delivery network.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing the delivery and sortation network, ensuring operations processes meet safety, customer experience, quality, and cost goals. They will need to evaluate options from basic to automated solutions, providing data-driven support for their recommendations. The role requires creating and maintaining detailed drawings of material handling equipment, work areas, and storage equipment, as well as supporting future initiatives.

Success in this position demands strong collaboration skills with both internal teams and external vendors to create cost-effective solutions under tight deadlines. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while effectively communicating with various stakeholders is crucial. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $118,900 to $205,600 based on location and experience, plus comprehensive benefits including equity and sign-on payments.
