Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites aimed at providing high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a Sr L1/L2 Embedded SW Architect, you'll play a crucial role in designing and developing the communication payload and customer terminal systems for this groundbreaking project.

You'll be responsible for leading the software architecture design and implementation of modem firmware, working at the intersection of hardware and software. Responsibilities For Sr L1/L2 Embedded SW Architect, Wireless Systems

  • Design embedded software architecture for Physical Layer (L1) Modem across Kuiper network nodes
  • Develop embedded software in C/C++ for Linux and RTOS
  • Work with ASIC teams to build ultra-reliable embedded software stacks
  • Design and implement interfaces between L1 and L2 software stacks
  • Develop solutions for time, frequency and spatial acquisition/tracking in LEO systems
  • System integration and debugging from PHY to network layer
  • Interface with flight computer and SDN control subsystems

Requirements For Sr L1/L2 Embedded SW Architect, Wireless Systems

Linux
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years professional experience in mission critical software embedded systems
  • Experience in broadband wireless or wireline communication embedded systems
  • Experience in HW/SW co-design for power/area efficient solutions
  • Understanding of modem L1/L2 algorithms and architectures
  • Knowledge of end-to-end network system architecture
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee/asylee due to export control requirements
