As a Sr. Lab Engineer on the Kuiper Software Health Automation team, you'll play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the lab infrastructure that enables software development and testing for both ground and space operations.

The position involves designing and maintaining test fixtures, troubleshooting complex systems, and ensuring high availability of lab environments. You'll work directly with software and hardware development teams, contributing to engineering efforts from design to implementation. Responsibilities For Sr. Lab Engineer, Kuiper

  • Design, set up and maintain test fixtures to verify software on real hardware
  • Create and maintain lab documentation
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and networking issues
  • Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation
  • Drive adoption of best practices in testbed maintainability
  • Manage equipment stock and procure lab equipment
  • Participate in lab on-call rotation
  • Provide lab services to remote workers
  • Provide technical support to lab users

Requirements For Sr. Lab Engineer, Kuiper

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or comparable industry experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional IT experience in test lab support or operational hardware support
  • 2+ years experience organizing and maintaining stock of critical test equipment
  • 2+ years experience in project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee/asylee due to export control laws
  • Highly organized and autonomous, detail oriented and willing to learn new skills
